Fundamental Features Of The Genie® Superlift Advantage®

The Genie SLA Superlift Advantage is a material lift which is operated manually and is specially noted for its compact, portable design that allows the lift to be transported through standard single doorways. The lift comes with a number of components- a winch, base, and load-handling options and it can be loaded very easily in to a pickup truck or similar. The Genie® Superlift Advantage® is designed to lift up to 454 kg of material up to a height of 11ft and 5.5 inches and up to 295 kg of load up to a height of 26 ft. and 5 inches. Recognised for its versatility, the material lift can boost your productivity and add value to your investments.

The Genie® Superlift Advantage® offers an optional a straddle base that can carry wide loads and pass through narrow doorways. It has the capacity to straddle loads that have a width of 31.5-50 inches and to handle pallets that may have a maximum width of 48 inches. The presence of flat forks facilitates ground-level loading. The standard base comprises of a welded steel base that provides additional support and guarantees steady performance.

You do not need to use any tools to set up the lift and you can transport the lift to the operational state easily within a few seconds. You can move it through standard doorways in a vertical position without having to remove the load or tilt back the lift. It features a rear transport wheel assembly that facilitates movement on irregular surfaces. You can fold the legs and remove the attachments to store the lift in a convenient manner. Additionally, the lift comes equipped with a hold-down bar that secures the mast assembly during the transportation process and its roller wheels promote smooth movement in a stowed position.

What is more appealing is that the Genie® Superlift Advantage® comes with interchangeable attachments, which allow you to make necessary adjustments to handle a wide variety of loads. The design accommodates a number of fork options including standard forks, flat forks, adjustable forks, and fork extensions, allowing you to adjust the load capacity as per your requirements. You can use the Boom option to convert your lift into a mobile, vertical crane and the Pipe Cradle option to facilitate easy lifting of odd-shaped items. The lift comes with a patented telescoping mast system that is noted for its strength and rigidity. Additionally, the lift features a patented locking system in its captive stabilizer, which provides additional lateral support to lift heavy loads. The standard one-speed winch comes with a silent ratchet system and if you choose to upgrade to a two-speed winch, you can easily switch between gears to lift different loads without having to remove or re-attach the handles.

In a nutshell, the versatility of the Genie® Superlift Advantage® allows you to choose the base, winch speed, mast height, and load handling attachments so that you can easily configure your material lift to address your specific needs.

Choosing The Most Appropriate Platform Trolley Depending On Your Specific Requirement

platform trolleyWhile the main purpose of using trolleys at work sites remains the same, there can be unique needs that businesses may look to address. This explains why the use of platform trolleys has a wide and a varied scope and why businesses typically want to invest in customized trolleys that would match specific job requirements. The nature, weight, shape, and size of products that need to be transported should be taken into consideration in order to identify the most appropriate models that best serve your purpose.

A platform trolley is of high quality if it is constructed with a sturdy steel frame that has no sharp edges. Platform trolleys may have a width of 500 mm and a length of 600 mm and they may come with a carrying capacity that ranges from 300 kg upwards. Businesses can choose to customize the carrying surface depending on the nature of job. The base can be constructed with metal or wood. If you need to transport curved items, such as oil drums or bottles, you may choose to equip your trolleys with specially tailored cages. If you need to carry materials that have long lengths, you may choose to add racks to ensure safe carriage. If you think that you need to secure items, you may get a security cage installed to safeguard your items.

A customized platform trolley can come with sides added to it. The sides can be constructed with steel, plywood, mesh, or plastic and they can be hinged or gated depending on your requirement. The size and the nature of wheels of your platform trolley depend on the type of surface that the trolley is supposed to be used and the weight of the materials that the trolley needs to carry. If you need to transport heavy loads, go for trolleys that have wheels constructed with cast iron and polyurethane treads. If your trolley needs to be used on uneven surfaces, select trolleys that come equipped with air-filled pneumatic castors. More sensitive environments may demand the use of nylon or anti-static castors. Platform trolleys come with the same braking system as we find in an airport trolley which requires us to push down the handle so as to release the brake.

Reputed manufacturers may offer you quality add-ons that may enhance your operating experience, helping you capitalise on your investment.

Moving Machinery With Load Moving Skates

Load Moving Skates are one of the most handy tools you can possess when considering moving a large machine or object such as a cabinet/piece of furniture. Making light work of moving loads up to 100Tonnes short-medium distances but suitable for moving light loads too, machinery skates offer a versitile solution to load moving.

When moving a machine such as a CNC machine one would usually take a large purposely tested roller pinch bar (up to 5000kg) and carefully push the load slightly from the ground to enable an assistant to place a low entry toe jack under the machine in one corner, then repeat the opposite side of the machine.
Secondly two people then jack both of the jacks up high enough to slide the Load Moving Skates in to position, one can then release pressure from the jacks to safely lower the machine down on to the bed of the front steerable skate. Repeat the same on the opposite side, the correct method would be to perform this lift with 4 toe jacks however many people take the risk of using only two jacks. (You should always use 4 jacks).

There are many types of Toe Jacks available on today’s market varying from standard low entry models, adjustable toe jacks where the toes can be conveniently tucked away or moved and rotational Toe Jacks which as you can imagine rotate.

How Do Machine Skates Work?

Machine Skates or sometimes referred to as Load Moving Skates are very easy to operate, they work by distributing the weight of the load up to 100 Tonnes over the surface of the skate, underneath the skates surface there are specially engineered castors or ball bearings that allow the skate to move and with some models, turn.

Most people use Toe Jacks or a Roller Crow Bar to lift the load or machine enough to slide a skate into place. Once the skate is in place the Jack or Crow Bar is lowered in order to release the load on to the skate for ease of transport.

Most loads require three skates, two rear skates that connect via a bar to ensure they remain in line with each other and one front steerable skate which includes special steerable wheels to enable the load to travel around corners and be more manoeuvrable.

Machine Skates are used in a variety of other load moving applications such as for loading containers, machine movers can also move pallets and pallet boxes that are too heavy for standard pallet trucks!
